Red Water Hong Shui


Charcoal roasted in the traditional way, this tea has a caramelized sweetness that is very pleasing. Fruitwood is used to make the charcoal fire which takes between one and two days to make. The tea is heated for about two hours in a bamboo basket and then allowed to rest for several months and then heated again.

Ingredients: Oolong tea from Lugu, in Nantou, Taiwan

Brewing Instructions
  1. Use 1 heaping teaspoon of tea per 6 ounces of water.
  2. Bring water to 205° F.
  3. Pour over leaves; steep for 1 minute.
  4. Remove leaves from tea.
  5. Enjoy!
  6. Reinfuse 3-4 times, increasing time by 50% each infusion.
