Eighty percent of the teas consumed in Japan are Senchas. This particular one from Yame is from the Okuhikari bush. It was grown in the sun and not shaded. The leaves are a little broken which is usually an indication it was steamed a little longer. The brew is light in color and a little cloudy. The "Oku" means it is a late cultivar. It has a light and sweet aroma with a slight bit of spice in the taste.
