Picked very early, before Qing Ming (China's annual festival on April 5, marking the first day of spring) from the cultivar, Jin Mudan/Gold Peony. The cultivar was originally from Fujian and its leaves were used to make oolong teas. This tea is from bushes that were transplanted and grown in Anhua County in Hunan and processed as a black tea. The leaves are not the prettiest, but the aroma is- warm floral notes with a honey finish. Great value. Small lot production.
